Assessing Competence in the Work Environment Unit

  • Who should do this course?

    This qualification is for people who are working in, or want to work in Assessment. This course provides people who carry out assessment in their organisation with the opportunity to develop and improve their practice as well as achieving a professional qualification for their assessor role.

  • Prerequisites

    Although there are no formal entry requirements for this course, you should have a qualification or experience in the subject you want to assess in. You will also need your own candidates to carry out the observed sample assessment on.

  • Course Fees

    £200 (No hidden Charges). There is no limit to the number of times you can submit the assessments.

  • Course Duration

    180 days from the day of payment, an extension is available free of charge after this. The time taken will largely depend upon your opportunities to carry out the necessary assessments.

  • Awarding Organisation

    TQUK is an OFQUAL approved nationally recognised Awarding Organisation who accredit Occupational Academy Ltd courses.

  • Student Support

    On-going Email Support throughout the course. Telephone, Skype, or Facetime Support throughout the course.

  • Certificate

    Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment. (People get the same certificate whether they attend a class based course or the online course)

  • Assessments

    Evidence for the learning outcomes and assessment criteria must comes from assessing 2 learners on 2 occasions in a real work environment against standards/criteria. There is also an essay based question.

  • Be able to provide required information following the assessment of occupational competence

  • Be able to maintain legal and good practice requirements when assessing occupational competence

David Wilson

David graduated his Degree, and PGCE Courses through the Open University, and has taught in a variety of settings since then, including in schools, for the Open University, within the Fire Service, for many industrial training centres, both within the Uk and worldwide. Finding a passion for Online Learning he has studied several Diploma level courses through this medium.
